Bansko in Bulgaria is host to one of the largest summer festivals of music in its country. It’s a massively popular event in which revellers from neighbouring countries and across the world travel to Bansko just to see the amazing line up of talent playing. When the jazz festival plays the Balkans become alive!
Normally Bansko, a nice quite traditional Bulgarian town, turns into a Mecca for music junkies of the world. The Bansko jazz concert is always free to the public with sponsorship coming from the local businesses of Bansko, of which without the festival would not happen.
The festival features top artists from Europe and the US, but the 10,000 inhabitants of Bansko are always welcoming of the tourists that the attraction brings. The music reverberates throughout the old town at places like the Nikola Vaptsarov Square whilst other bands jam on stages in resorts such as the Bansko Royal Towers which is a 4* complex near the main gondola consisting of luxury ski apartments in Bansko
The Bansko jazz festival was founded in 1998 and every since it’s tradition is to run in the hot summer months from August 8th to August 13th.
